Ahmed Khan confirms his reunion with Akshay Kumar after success in the welcome to the jungle 

 A new mission is on the horizon as director and actor discover ideas across genres fueled by a blockbuster hit and a 33-year friendship 

A hit film usually paves the way for a director and actor to get back together professionally. When you add 33 years of friendship to that equation, the mixture becomes 24 karat gold. No one knows this better than filmmaker Ahmed Khan, who has now confirmed that his next directorial venture will star Akshay Kumar in the lead role at another time.

 

Several varieties considered

In an interview with Midday, Khan found that the resounding success of Welcome to the Jungle made their reunion inevitable. While enthusiasts can come up with something else funny, the director pointed out that creative discussions are wide open.

"It turned out to be a remake of Welcome to the Jungle, so we had to make pictures together once again. I am very happy about the success of the film and the networker is also happy," Khan shared. Elaborating on their destiny plans, he said, "Akshay and I are planning something soon. We are in talks for two-three separate genres - action comedy, romantic action drama and out-and-out cinematics. Akshay also has a script that he almost proposed to me. We had to put our ideas to bed."

The director emphasized that a credible announcement can only be made after the script is locked and dates are finalised.

 

Addressing the rumors

The promise puts to rest one of the misleading predictions about Khan's upcoming slate. There were rumors that his next film could be a zombie comedy featuring Tiger Shroff and Shanaya Kapoor, while rumors of Welcome 4 have additionally been doing the rounds

Khan denied those reports and explained, “There are a lot of rumors when movies are hits, but as of now it is not real that my next is with Akshay.” Expressing his deep appreciation for their expert relationship, he said, "It's a pleasure to work with an expert like him. I like the pace and can do it to a greater extent with Akshay. Dance, action, drama - everything comes out organically with him."

 

A reliable manufacturing partnership

With both Kumar and Khan in touch, industry observers reckon the work is likely to be supported by using primary producers, with names like Feroz A Nadiadwallah or Sajid Nadiadwala at the helm, when capacity producers were frequently requested and the CEO remained tight-lipped, his representatives only indicated with. “Both of them are friends. They love Akshay and me,” he said.
