Rani Mukherjee Recalls Young Girl Moment With Aamir Khan: 'My Heart Broke'

Rani Mukherjee Recalls Young Girl

Rani Mukerji once shared a bittersweet memory of her teenage years, where a fangirl second was with her fate co-big name Aamir Khan. During her appearance on the classic communication show Rendezvous with Simi Garewal, the actress recalled how her first interview with the superstar tore her heart out.

At that time, Aamir Khan was shooting for Love Love Love with Juhi Chawla. After the huge success of Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, he became a national heartthrob. A young queen, determined to meet her idol, took a drastic step to get his signature.

A brief encounter that disappointed a young fan

The queen gathered the courage to approach him and declared him alive. "I bunked school and I left," she recalls. But the interaction was far from the moment of sweetness she imagined. Compared to the hot alternative, the meeting proved to be short and impersonal, and she felt at ease.

"Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak was free and he became like every young girl's dream and I approached him, very shy," Rani defined. "He obviously acted rude to me. He just took my e-book and he signed it and he gave it to me. So my heart broke." The short, wordless behavior crushed the young fan’s enthusiasm.

Destiny had an unusual plan, and years later, Rani found herself as a trap as the lead actor opposite Aamir Khan in 1998's Ghulam. This gave her a convenient opportunity to confront him almost at the first meeting. She brought back memories during the shooting of the popular song Aati Kya Khandala.

Rani acknowledged the statement, "I advised Aamir. I said 'Aamir do you mind when you have signed this little lady?' He asked, "When?" So I said love, love, love for a while. It was me.” Recognized for his perfectionism and fan-pleasing pictures, Aamir vehemently denied the possibility of such rudeness. "He said, 'You're a fake queen. I'm not rude in any way. I'm never rude to the kids or I'm not rude in any way to all of us who come to sign.' I said, 'You've been rude to me,'" she said.

To settle the playful disagreement and show her factors, the queen introduced the exact same signature e-book from her domestic and showed it to him, presenting solid evidence of their first, less than ideal meeting.

A Lasting Professional Relationship

Despite a memorable formative year event, the two players reportedly went on to forge a strong expert relationship. After the successful pairing in Ghulam, Rani Mukerji and Aamir Khan reunited on the big screen. They later starred together in the finale of the 2005 period drama Mangal Pandey: The Rising. Their latest collaboration came here in 2012, with the heavily acclaimed mystery Talaash: The Answer Lies Within.
