Drishyam 3 The Conclusion Movie Review

Drishyam 3: The Conclusion Movie Review: Ajay Devgn and Jaideep Ahlawat Deliver a Gripping Finale

Drishyam 3: The Conclusion Movie Review: Ajay Devgn and Jaideep Ahlawat Deliver a Gripping Finale

Drishyam 3: The Conclusion is the third and final chapter of the popular Hindi thriller franchise, bringing back AjayDevgn as Vijay Salgaonkar, along with Tabu, Shriya Saran and Rajat Kapoor. The film also introduces Jaideep Ahlawat as the determined police officer Rajveer Singh Tomar.

Directed by Abhishek Pathak, Drishyam 3 takes the story in a new direction instead of simply remaking the Malayalam version. The result is a thriller that understands what audiences expect from the franchise while still trying to surprise them.

So, does Drishyam 3 deliver the conclusion fans were waiting for?

Mostly, yes.

Drishyam 3 Story: What Is the Film About?

The story once again revolves around Vijay Salgaonkar and the secrets he has spent years protecting.

Just when Vijay believes that the events of the past are finally behind him, a new threat appears. Rajveer Singh Tomar, played by Jaideep Ahlawat, enters the picture with a different approach to the case.

Instead of simply following the same investigation methods used before, Rajveer is determined to find a way around Vijay's carefully created defence.

The film then becomes another battle of intelligence between Vijay and the people trying to expose the truth.

The interesting part is that the audience already knows Vijay's history. Therefore, the real question is not simply whether he will escape, but how he will manage to stay one step ahead this time.

That familiar setup becomes the foundation for the film's biggest twists.

Ajay Devgn Is Still the Heart of Drishyam

Ajay Devgn once again fits comfortably into the role of Vijay Salgaonkar.

His performance is deliberately controlled. Vijay is not a character who needs long emotional speeches or dramatic outbursts. Much of his personality comes through his expressions, silence and the way he thinks before reacting.

Devgn understands that perfectly.

Even when Vijay finds himself under pressure, there is a calmness to his character that keeps the audience interested.

More importantly, Devgn makes Vijay complicated enough for viewers to understand his motivations without necessarily agreeing with all of his decisions.

Jaideep Ahlawat Steals the Spotlight

The biggest addition to Drishyam 3 is Jaideep Ahlawat, and he makes a strong impression.

His character, Rajveer Singh Tomar, gives Vijay a different kind of opponent. Rajveer is confident, observant and determined to break through the Salgaonkar family's carefully protected story.

Ahlawat gives the character enough intensity without turning him into a typical Bollywood villain.

His scenes with Ajay Devgn are among the film's strongest moments.

In fact, if you are watching Drishyam 3 mainly for the cat-and-mouse battle, Jaideep Ahlawat gives you another reason to stay invested.

Tabu and the Supporting Cast

Tabu once again brings seriousness and emotional weight to the story as Meera Deshmukh.

Her character remains closely connected to the events that have shaped the franchise, and Tabu handles the emotional side of the role with restraint.

Rajat Kapoor and Prakash Raj also add weight to the investigation and legal side of the story.

Kamlesh Sawant's Gaitonde remains one of the lighter elements of the film, providing occasional humour without completely breaking the thriller atmosphere.

The supporting performances work best when the film allows them to remain natural rather than forcing dramatic moments.

Direction and Screenplay

Director Abhishek Pathak understands the biggest challenge of making a third Drishyam film: the audience already knows the formula.

Instead of completely abandoning what made the earlier movies popular, the film uses familiar elements and adds new complications.

The screenplay carefully places small details throughout the story. Some of them become important later, while others are designed to make the audience question what is really happening.

This keeps the viewer involved rather than allowing the film to become a simple investigation story.

The film is also notable because it has an original Hindi storyline rather than directly following the Malayalam Drishyam narrative.

Suspense and Twists

This is where Drishyam 3 works best.

The film repeatedly asks the audience to remember small details and then uses those details to change the situation.

The suspense does not depend entirely on action. Instead, conversations, evidence and character decisions create most of the tension.

That approach fits the Drishyam franchise.

There are moments when the screenplay takes a few convenient turns, and some viewers may be able to predict parts of the eventual direction. Still, the film manages to maintain enough uncertainty to keep the experience engaging.

Music and Technical Aspects

The background score plays an important role in maintaining the thriller atmosphere.

Instead of constantly telling the audience that something dramatic is happening, the film often allows the silence and performances to create tension.

The visual presentation also remains grounded rather than turning the finale into a larger-than-life action spectacle.

That works in the film's favour because Drishyam has always been more interested in tension and intelligence than spectacle.

What Works in Drishyam 3?

  • Ajay Devgn's controlled performance
  • Jaideep Ahlawat's strong screen presence
  • Engaging cat-and-mouse battle
  • Several effective twists
  • Strong connection with the previous films
  • Original Hindi storyline
  • Good use of suspense and background score
  • A satisfying sense of closure for the franchise

What Doesn't Work?

The film is not perfect.

At around 150 minutes, the movie can feel slightly stretched in places. The final portion could have benefited from tighter editing.

Some plot developments also require the audience to accept certain convenient turns.

The film largely follows the established Drishyam formula, so viewers expecting something completely different may find parts of it familiar. Critics have similarly pointed to the lengthy finish and occasional gaps in an otherwise engaging thriller.

Drishyam 3 Review: Final Verdict

Drishyam 3: The Conclusion does not try to reinvent the franchise, and that is both its strength and its limitation.

The film understands why audiences connected with Vijay Salgaonkar in the first place and builds its final chapter around the same combination of suspense, family, secrets and carefully placed clues.

Ajay Devgn remains excellent as Vijay, but Jaideep Ahlawat becomes the film's biggest surprise. Their face-off gives the movie the fresh energy it needs.

There are some predictable moments and the runtime could have been tighter, but the film remains an engaging thriller and gives the franchise a respectable final chapter.
