When it comes to Lebanon's renowned independent production company, Productions, the 78th edition of the Locarno Film Festival, will be awarded the Raimondo Rezzonico Award. The Beerut-based studio, with Georges Shocare and Myrium Sassin, is recognized for its unique contribution to independent cinema in the Arab world.
With this award, the Abbout Productions Festival will showcase two of his famous films: Costa Brava, Lebanon, who directed by Maunia Singel, and from Memory Box, Jona Joona Headjithomas and Khalil Jorige.
The organizers of the festival praised the company's flexibility and influence, and said, "Since Jorges became CEO of Shoucare in 2004, and after joining Maryum Sasin in 2010, Abbout Productions included a diverse Libelli and a diverse slate of Arab films in life and a global market."
